I will be in Aca the last week of May and am trying to find something fun for the kids (ages 4 and 7) to do - any ideas greatly appreciated!
Parque Papagayo (which has been recently discussed in length, here at the forum), with its small zoo area:
CICI WaterPark (www.cici.com.mx)
Maybe Magico Mundo (out on the Peninsula at Playas Caleta y Caletilla)?
Occasionally there's a circus in town, too. [I've seen that happen twice now; and though it's more so for the locals, I'm sure that some tourists have gone.]

Also, on weekend evenings - particularly Saturday and Sunday night (early-evening, also) you'll frequently find clowns entertaining children (and adults) alongside the 'kiosk' in Plaza Alvarez (the "Zocalo").
Yes - lots of little kids in the town square on those nights ... all gathered around to watch the clown show. [It's in Spanish, of course, but their antics will likely amuse your kids - no matter the language.]

And the 'street-car' (trolley) ride mentioned - which departs from a point just west of the mid-bay area.

> IMO, you'll have to plan on spending some time in the main-bay area ... in order to find these kids-oriented amusements & activities. From the Mayan facilities, it's about a half-hour ride (and approximately $12-$15) each way ... all depending on where (specifically) you're headed. Just a heads-up.

I echo all these choices Cici's is a can't miss for the kids the Wave pool is alot of fun & they offer a dolphin show as well as a swim with the dolphins package if your interested in that. I believe admission is now 100 peso or about 10.00 USD for the day plus tube deposit of 2.50 per tube.
The kids will also enjoy the clowns & Silver man if he decides to be there in the Zocalo performing for a few pesos..
In regards to the Trolley ride only 1 route was being offered when I went a month ago which was RT 1 the Zocalo/Cliff diver area hopefully the Puerto Marques run is now back in operation. They offer a 90 minute ride for 50 pesos a bargain IMO.
try the park too if you can get the kids out of the pool........pick up a small loaf a bread to feed the ducks fish and turtles by the pond and try and find the little island with the monkeys on it......iam sure they will like that........a few indoor actives for kids aswell in a mall by the name of gallerias diana picolo mondo is its name or another place with some fun games to play by the name of coney island......just a thought if you want the kids out of the sun and the heat for a while.......what hotel will you be staying at?????? it can make a difference in what we can recommend close to you......zzaa
I went to CICI WaterPark (yes I did went outside the Ritz,LOL) and it was fun.The place is neat and safe and it's a nice change from the regular beach-pool agenda. There are not alot of people in the park so it's worth all the spending.

Zzaa -
We keep forgetting to bring bread (or crackers) for the ducks ... and I still haven't seen that island full of monkeys. Thanks for the reminders. [Now let's see if I can remember these "next time".]

While I'm here ...
Where exactly IS the monkey-island ... after you walk through the main entrance? [Which way would we go?] Thanks.
