First time to Acapulco. A little nervous about what to bring, what to wear, costume jewelry only and nothing to flashy?
You will find you can buy clothing very cheaply in Acapulco. Formal usually means a white shirt and dark slacks. Keep the bling to a minimum and look like you know where you're going. have fun.
Shorts and sandals, and swim wear.
Shorts, golf type shirts, sandals, sneakers.
That will go a long way down here.
I guess we missed the other part. Better off to not be too flashy. Just normal jewelry, watches etc are all you really want to bring. Might find a few things here as well
LEAVE your jewelry at home. You won't impress the locals, and if you do try to buy anything (e.g. negotiating), you will only pay more because of your jewelry (therefore you must be rich and can afford to pay more).
Remember that sunscreen (which is necessary) will make even your tightest jewelry slip off with ease..... only to be lost (forever). Which is why I strongly encourage you to leave all of your jewelry at home, and just take items that are absolutely necessary (i.e. your watch, your wedding rings). Safe travels.
Also, I always bring my own sunscreen as the cost is price-gouging high IMO
Yes. Keep the jewelry to a bare minimum (worth repeating). You won't need it.
Don't pack all the wrong clothes ... just what's been mentioned above. It's hot down there! If you plan to dine at some of the upscale/pricey restaurants — a pair of slacks, a collared shirt, & boat shoes for guys; something light and casual-dressy for gals.
If you're coming from Lake George, DO pack a short-sleeved shirt and a pair of shorts, as well as sandals or sneakers and a swim suit ... IN YOUR CARRY-ON. Last year our luggage didn't make it on the plane. Got it the next day; but in the meantime, we had to go out & buy swimsuits (and a summer outfit for Val). I've always had the habit of putting on my summer clothes wherever we change planes.
Enjoy the trip ...
I fail to see where wedding rings are absolutely necessary.
LOL. They may even cut off your circulation.
I agree about the wedding rings Res.
