When to go to Loreto?

We can go to Loreto next May or November. Which would be the best month and why?

Either would be good. I have a home in Loreto Bay and usually go the last two weeks in October. The weather is just transitioning to perfect. May is also delightful I hear from friends who spend more time there. A key thing about traveling to Loreto is that the airfare can be expensive. Alaska is the main carrier and they only fly in four days a week on small planes so demand is high, and so are the prices. If you're interested, my home is listed on TripAdvisor as a Romantic Getaway. Hope this info helps.

We will stay one week in Loreto and then stay in Cabo San Lucas or San Jose Del Cabo. the resort says they will pick us up in Cabo, but we have to get back on our own. So we are thining about renting a car to get back and maybe keep it a few days while we are on the last half of our vacation. Any tips? We will be staying at Villa de Palmar. How far is that to get into town? We are not all inclusive people. We like to get out and meet the locals and try their restaurants. Thanks for your help.

Villa del Palmar is about 30 miles from Loreto. If you want to meet the locals, renting a car would be a very good idea. May and November are the best months in Loreto. Fishing should be good. Water should be warm enough to snorkel without wet suits. Not too hot. The north winds aren't blowing. Be sure to hire a panga and go out to the islands, even if you don't fish.

There is a restaurant, maybe more than one, at the resort. I have heard that they provide transportation to town. I think a rental car would give you more freedom and independence. The resort is on a beautiful beach, just quite a distance from town. There are a number of interesting places between there and town: Ligui, Escondido, Nopolo. Do some exploring, you won't be sorry.

Sounds excellent. We love to rent a car and go exploring in Mexico. We did that when we went to Puerto Penesco (spelling?) and put 400 miles on the car in one day seeing all of the Father Keno missions. It was amazing.

Hi,

We stayed at VDP in Cabo. It has a very nice view of Lands Ends, from the Ocean view rooms. We purchased the All-Inclusive. If you did not purchase the all-inclusive, I would recommend that you eat at restaurants in downtown Cabo, and NOT at the hotel. The hotel's food is only okay, but is very very expensive. A breakfast meal for 5 people will easily run you about $200 US. At VDP, they always show you the bill, even when you are all-inclusive..and they just subtract the total from your bill when you check out since it is all-inclusive. Also, the drinks in the mini frig is also very expensive ($4 a bottle of coke or water). Go to walmart that is right across the street in the shopping center where Sam's Club is, and fill up on the stuff that you need. Try the many restaurants in downtown Cabo. Prices are comparable to US...from $10 per meal to $20 US (assumption of regular restaurants). Rent a car, and explore.

Have fun!

We are staying at Pueblo Bonito Sunset and will probably do breakfast and lunch in room. Eat downtown for dinner. We have been to Cabo. Our main concern in Loreto.
