Flights / buses from Cabo?

Is it convenient to get to La Paz from Cabo? Renting a car?

If you can, renting a car is a great way to make the trip, as you can stop at some of the great little places on the way! There is a bus, but I don't know anything about it.

We hired a driver for the day going from La Paz down the East coast having lunch in San Jose after stopping at several beaches. Then a hour in Cabo (plenty for us) then back through Todos Santos & back to La Paz. We pay him $100 US (80 plus 20 tip) for a full day. We normally use the same driver daily when traveling.

We are headed to La Paz this coming Saturday. After flying in, we stay in San Jose del Cabo for the night and head out in the morning. It is much safer to drive those roads with plenty of daylight! We rent a car and will take the highway through Cabo, up the Pacific side, and through Todos Santos (Hotel California) into La Paz. We have travelled the other way, past East Cape, but since Hurricane John we are unsure if any of the roads are still in bad shape (washouts, etc.)

Have fun! Either way the drive is beautiful!

This site (see below) has transportation info for arrival into SJD and bus service from central San Jose to La Paz:

Hope this helps.

Peddler665 - Would you mind providing the name and contact information for the driver you used? We are flying into Los Cabos and going to Ventana Bay. We thought a driver would be the best bet for transportation.

We have just returned from La Paz and are planning our next trip in Dec 09. We used a company called Safe Ride in Baja Sur. They really made the trip very easy and the drivers all spoke English and Spanish. They are a private car service and are much nicer then taking the bus. We took the bus on our first trip and I was car sick for the entire three hour ride. I will never take the bus again.
