St. Eustatius folklore

I am writing a book about the gunrunning, etc. that took place during the American Revolution. I understand that St. Eustatia was a bustling port trading ammunition. Does anyone have any local stories, folklore, etc. about this time in the island history? I would love to hear about it!

Pick up the book The Golden Rock by Eleanor Heckert. Very insightful about that era. "Statia" is the local name for the Island the proper name is Sint Eustatius.
