Hotels in Ao Nang

Hi there. I'm struggling to decide on a hotel. We'll be in Krabi for about 8 days in December, over christmas. We will probably stay in Ao Nang as it seems we can do a lot from there (visit islands and other beaches, etc). Trouble is, finding the right hotel. The reviews are all so mixed. We are a couple, late 40s, no kids. We'd like a bit of luxury, but nothing spectacular. We like to be reasonably close to the bars, restaurants and beach, but don't mind a short walk. We don't particularly want a hotel that families take their kids to. We like relaxation and some exploring. Any help and advice would be appreciated, thank you!

Oh yes, bungalows are preferable to a hotel. Thanks.

We had the same wish list looking for a hotel in Ao Nang-- we will be there in October and have just booked at Ao Nang Villa Resorts--and yes, the reviews are all over the place. We are going with lowered expectations....and hope to be pleasantly surprised.

We had considered the Vogue(mixed reviews--noise issue) and Mercure Deevana ( it appeared to cater to families with kids)

What helped with our decision was the fact that since we are going during the rainy season it would be nice to be as close to the shopping and restaurants as possible to avoid the downpour or the need to use tuk tuks all the time. Ao Nang Villa appeared to have covered walkways too.

We are hoping that the hotel will be nice and clean and that if not, the weather will be so terrific that we won't be spending much time in the room!!

Good luck with your search!!

We had a lovely time at the Peace Laguna - go for one of their best category rooms.

Thank you, both the Peace Laguna and the Ao Nang Villa look like they might suit us. I'm also looking at the Pakasai Resort. Will weigh them up and book soon.

Thanks again, really helpful comments.

Also, check out Rimlay Villas. Although it is a 15 min drive from Ao Nang, you'll get all the luxury you need.

The best hotels like the Sheraton, Sofitel etc are all in Khlong Muang which is about a 15/20 minute taxi ride away, you won't find the combination of higher end hotels and a nice beach within walking distance of a good choice of bars and restaurants in Krabi

I spend 2 night at Ao Nang Phu Petra Villas.

Great services, stuning scenery, great room but far away from the beach.

There is free shuttle tuk tuk to MC'D at Ao Nang Beach quite often.

We did a great Thai Massage at Hotel.

If you are looking for hotel that close to everything, Aonang Cliff Beach Resort is the answer.

Strategic Location in central of Ao Nang Beach.
