Aonang Restaurants

We are planning to stay in Krabi first week August. We love good authentic Thai food. Can someone suggest high quality tried and tested eateries in the Aonang area?

Thanks

Try Lae Lay Grill, great food, great view & they will pick you up from your hotel - fairly pricey though

There are several restaurants right on the beach, near the taxi boat counter. It's not easy to see the way, but the restaurants are clean, quiet, away from the street noise. Our first lunch was there, perfect location.

Try the Frog and Catfish ... it's about 15 minutes from Ao Nang, but it is so worth the trip ... check out their reviews on Tripadvisor for what people have said about it.

It is really beautiful and does authentic Thai food. Here's a video I made there so you can get an idea of what it is like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rdYUUx4aBeo

If you want real thai food look for the food stalls by the road just find a table and choose from any of the stalls the best food in town cheap and good fun with the stall workers.

Street food is the best in Thailand don't be afraid just ask and smile they will always help you.

Although some are tasty and cheap, but not convenient and no romantic atmosphere in the plastic chairs and the traffic noise. Everybody has his favourites.

Agree with seman65 except for the first one (can't remember the name) brought our bill before the meal, could never get staff attention, all the others are great, lovely spot.

Hi We found Tantas quite good on the main strip near the beach. We went there 3 x and always loved the thai dishes which had a great taste and were well priced too.

librian2000, I am curious because Tanta's have got quite mixed review on TA:

Can you share a little bit more from your experience although you had already review the restaurant? What did you order and how much did you pay for them?

We had the best Pad Thai we've ever tasted at Janettes!

Street food is great! You can't go past banana pancakes!

Also we went into the Krabi Night Markets(Fri-Sun) and most of the stalls there are selling food. Was a good opportunity to try lots of different things as it was all so cheap.
