Beach access

If you stay at a hotel or house not on the beach, how do you get access to the beach? Also, are there scuba diving excursions on Harbour Island. My family of 4 are not expert divers and always dive with a dive master.

Also, is the water warm enough to swim during the first half of March? We like the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico in the summers

Lots of beach access points and the resorts are not protective of the beach in front of their property. There are dive excursions, try Valentine's. The water is warm enough to swim but is still cooler in March.

Valentine's is excellent but also call Jef Fox at Ocean Fox. He's the foremost authority on all things water and is a super guy. Most places will have wetsuits if the water is colder than comfortable. The water temperature in March should be somewhere between 75-79 degrees. Access to the beach is easy, there aren't many parking restrictions on HI, it's Bahamian... laid back and cool! When in doubt ask a local, most are more than happy to help. You'll have a ball!
