There is no such thing from either the airport or the cruise port on Grand Bahama Island. The taxi union has a throttle on that business. Unless you have airport transfers as part of your package you'll need to take a cab. Even with transfers you'll end up in a cab but not having to pay. It'll cost somewhere around $20-25 for two. We haven't done that for two years now since we use a rental car, but I believe the base price has gone up slightly because of the price of gas on the island (approaching $4.00 per gallon last week). Last we used it, in February 2004, the price was $18 for two, plus a buck for each suitcase and two bucks for each set of golf clubs. Talk to the driver before you get in the cab. With 7 you may need two cabs, although there should be plenty of vans there that are taxis and can fit you all. If you can get that done the price per person should be less.

Does anyone have any recommendations on the best rental car company?

Brad's (www.bradscarrental.com), hands down, and than KSR Car Rental. Avoid the major companies like Hertz. Their cars suck. If you are only in town for 3 days you really don't have to leave the Port Lucaya area to have a great time. Just about every tourist activity is based there and they'll shuttle you around to their destinations. If you want to explore the island than go for the car. You must be at least 25 to rent and I believe their minimum rental is 3 days.
