Unexpected Costs at Atlantis?

Many of the reviews on tripadvisor mention that there are exorbitant add on costs at Atlantis. I'm not understanding what they mean and I want to make sure I'm not missing something.

You don't have to do the extra charge activities or comedy shows and you can somewhat control the cost of your dinners. I know that meals can be expensive but can anyone here tell me if we should expect to spend additional money on anything other than meals, snacks, the casino, comedy shows, extra charge activities, and extra tips for housekeeping left in the room?

We've stayed twice before for a week each at Comfort Suites so we know the prices of the restaurants in Marina Village. We booked 2 nights at the Beach Tower online and paid $131 for taxes, fees, surcharges, and mandatory gratuities so there shouldn't be any extra room charges unless we sign up for wifi or use the phone in the room, right?

The fine print on the Atlantis website said to "add up to $66 per night for mandatory taxes, mandatory housekeeping grats.,utility svc. fees & svc chgs." to the price of the room and that's what we've already paid.

Make sure that you sign up with casino services if you do any gambling. As for tipping housekeeping, I usually leave a few dollars per day extra .Wifi runs about $20.00 ( unlimited minutes) per day, however if you don't need it often, you can get 15 minutes complimentary per day in the coral tower library.

You've paid the extra fees, taxes, etc. so no there shouldn't be anything else except what you charge back to the room (which you can pay off in cash if you want). I agree with the above suggestion, if you gamble get a casino card, use it (we did and got offers for free rooms for future visits).

Princess, thanks for the advice about the casino card. I won $100 on the first pull in the casino last year and walked away. I'm bringing it back to gamble with this year!
