My husband and I were at Atlantis in June.

As far as I know you cannot purchase a day pass to Atlantis. You can walk through the Marina Village, casino, and shops within the resort with no problem. The Dig costs money for non-Atlantis guests, but when we went one evening late, they didn't check for wristbands and you might avoid the price. Pools and the beach are restricted to guests only and you must have a wristband to access (which changes daily).

You CAN purchase a day pass per the Atlantis website. it's called Discover Atlantis tour. The cost at of 12/06 is $29.00 per person and excludes access to pools and water rides.

To call this a Day Pass is deceiving (but that's atlantis for ya).

This is a pass to view the DIGS and a TOUR of the lagoons. It's not a pass to enjoy the grounds. You won't be able to sit in a lounger, or walk freely around most of the grounds or beach. Some tours make you stay in a group.. others are more lax. But it's really not a "day pass" per se.

It cost $29 pp and you can purchase these passes in the Casino.

There's quite alot of the atlantis that you can see without a pass, including the marina village, Casinos, lobbies and shoppes.

My mom and I went to Atlantis a few years ago as a day trip from a cruise. We purchased the $29.00 digs pass and walked around on our own for hours. Atlantis is a very large place and there are lots and lots of aquariums. When we were tired we stopped at the beach and sat down for another hour. The water was too rough to swim and they did not mind us sitting there. I tipped the gentlemen who asked us our room number and said my mother really needs to just sit down for a while and he was kind enough to look the other way. This May I am going on the same cruise with my family of 8 and I was hoping we could do the same thing. What do you think my luck will be??

You don't need any luck. The beach is public. You will not be allowed in the pool areas.

The beach is public to the water line. Not the sandy beach and certainly not the lounge chairs. Hotel employees can ask you to leave if you are above the high tide mark.

Some look the other way .. others don't.

You can always walk a few meters east and enjoy the public beach past the RIU if they say something.

Who said anything about lounge chairs? You can sit on that beach all day long.

Not trying to pick a fight.. just saying what the rules (and law) are.

All beaches in the bahamas are public to the high tide mark. Beyond that, the hotels or property owners can throw you off.

It's up to security and the lifeguards to allow you to sit on the sandy beach... or not.
