Paradise Island Resort to shut down mid July and be overhauled by Warwick International Hotels
It's about time. This place has been ready for the wrecking ball for years.
It will take more than 10mil to get it off the ground.
We remember this hotel (it has had several names) way back to the early 80's and it was perfect. Back then we had to "dress" for dinner. A couple of years ago we went there to see a friend who is still there. We just hope they make it as good as it can be.
seeing deals for this place now for $800 all in for the week (including flight from toronto and taxes)...it is kind of tempting me since breezes is 500 more and riu is double that price. i know obviously you get what you pay for, but recent reviews on this place mostly seem positive. im mainly attracted due to the proximity to atlantis.
is it true that it is a 5-10 minute walk from the beach? and is this accessible to the public without paying? i read chairs are available to rent - how much are they?
The resort is on the harbor side of Paradise Island, It is about a 10 minute walk at least to the public access path to Cabbage Beach next to the Riu Hotel. The beach is open to anyone and you can rent chairs and umbrellas but there are no restrooms on the public portion of the beach.
