Just Snorkelled at Atlantis

We could not snorkel anywhere in the ocean as the red flags were up (Oct 14-20)... so we went into the lagoon. We really enjoyed it. Had to take a life vest, but did not inflate it. We were able to dive down deep... about 20-23ft. Lots of different fish all aroud the rocks and under the bridge. Dive down deep and alot more to see. Found some very nice sized conchs on the bottom. Lagoon got closed because some ocean stinrays got to swimmng with us.. a week earlier there was some octopus too.

sounds fantastic! Is there a charge for snorkeling there? for the equipment? Just wondering if it's worth it to bring basic snorkel gear there...

If you bring your own snorkeling gear, no charge to do so in the largoon. However, we did not see too many snorkelers in the largoon last week. We tried it near the beach and didn't see too much stuff. Perhaps we should have ventured further out. In any cases, we saw many fishes in the water from the beach in front of the Cove and Reef.

I bring my own gear as the gear you can rent is not good quality hence they don't fit as well as better equipment.

There is really nothing to see along the main beach. Venturing out futher is not advisable with boat/jet ski traffic
