Nassau or Aruba

I am a single female traveler and wonder which resort/area would be better for a single lady 60 years old. I like to gamble and eat and swim and not much else. I want a place with NO KIDS or if they are there to be out of my sight and sound. Which place would be better suited for me? Aruba Or Nassau Price not a matter.

Other than at the casino, you are unlikely to find any resort in the Carribean that does not have children at all -- except maybe Sandals, but many are couples only resorts.

That said, at the moment, only Atlantis has a casino in the Bahamas. They do have adult only areas and depending on the time of year, other areas may have few children, if any. If price is no object, have a look at the One and Only on Paradise Island (part of Atlantis with all the same privileges, but more adult oriented and upscale) A shuttle runs to and from the casino and main resort. Or if you want onsite, then look to stay at the Reef or Cove towers of Atlantis.

I can't speak to Aruba.

I've been to both and I would recommend Aruba. The high rise hotels on Palm Beach have casinos but also are family oriented. You can stay on Eagle beach in Aruba. Check out the Bucuti in Aruba. It's an adult only hotel and fabulous!!!!! It's right nest door to a very small casino called Alahambra but It's also a short cab ride into the high rise area where there is nightlife and the bigger casinos are there.

If you go to Nassau and stay in Atlantis its full of kids!!!

I have been to both Atlantis and Aruba and I think it depends on when you going. If you traveling outside of peak season, when kids are in school, I think Atlantis would be a good option for you. I would book The Cove at Atlantis. If you are going during school vacations, spring break or summer, then I would say Aruba. I would also recommend Bucuti if you go to Aruba.

If price does not matter, after years of staying at Atlantis and Wyndham we finally rented a single family oceanfront home, great experience, check it out, google seaduction nassau or you can find it here on tripadvisor or expedia and other major websites.

Atlantis is a great casino about 15 minutes away. Aruba I think it's too small a casino for a true gambler. BTW what do you play?

Atlantis has great Blackjack games.

Been to both I Love the Bahamas but I have to say Aruba is my favorite by far. In Aruba most of the hotels have casinos Radisson Hyatt and there is also one in town. The people are amazing and the food is wonderful!!

I don't know if you've gone yet, but Atlantis in February is FULL of kids. It's a giant water park... School age kids, big kids, toddlers and babies... Like you can hear them through the walls of your room. We took ours too, so I can't complain (though I did laugh at your comment about kids -- I get it) about it. You have to walk through the casino (with your kids in tow) to get to some parts of Atlantis. The place is just packed, and I'm not sure that we even went at a busy time... Definitely not the place to go and just relax, though the beaches and water are absolutely beautiful. I can't speak for Aruba, but just a head's up on Atlantis!
