3 day trip to bahamas

Hi everyone,

I am a 33 yr old single guy planning to go to Miami on Nov 23 from SF and back on Dec2.Plan to also include a 3 days trip to the Bahamas in between.I was doing some research on which hotel to stay in Nassau and have shortened the list to Atlantis and Breezes.Based on what I read on other posts on this website breezes is good place for single guys (cable beach) whereas there lot of activities to do in Atlantis ( casino).I plan to take a ferry from Miami to Bahamas and was thinking of doing doing 2 nights in Breezers (Nov 29 and 30) and 1 night in Atlantis (Dec 1).The price is pretty close for the both these places. Can all the travel gurus advise if this will work? I was am also interested in some of the nightlife but would also like to check out the acquarium in Atlantis..Also is cable beach better than paradise beach? Also plan to do scuba diving..

Thanks a ton for all the advise :)

Let's start at the beginning first... there is NO ferry from so florida to Nassau.. there IS one to Freeport.. but that's 120 miles away on a totally different island, with no ferry service between them.

If you want to go to Breezes/ Atlantis.. you'll need to Fly into Nassau

BTW.. there is a casino just 5 minutes from Breezes.. and you can get a Aquarium pass to Atlantis DIGS for $40 if you are not staying there.

As for pricing. Breezes is an all inclusive. Food, drinks, activities etc.

Atlantis is not.. everything is al la carte.. and very pricey. Even things like the rock wall.. which is free at Breezes, is a paid attraction at Atlantis.

Thanks scubagirl for that info.I didnt realise flying was the only option for Nassau..I am now slightly more inclined towards breezes unless other folks here advise on checking out Atlantis as well. How is the beach around Atlantis. Is it better than cable beach?I would like to check out Atlantis as well for a day if possible since a lot of the folks speak so highly of it.

Also are there any cheaper flight options from MIA to NAS?

Don't know about flights, but in order to check out Atlantis, you'll need a day pass. Aquarium pass is $40.. and is for the aquarium only. To get on the grounds and check out the rest of the property, a pass will cost you $135pp. Crazy huh?

Theres' quite a few options from so florida to nassau.. hopefully others will give you some options.

Scubagirrl said it all...it just depends on what you're looking for. Atlantis is amazing to see at least once (IMO) but is very large, expensive, and possibly too much to see in one day if you intend to "do it all". What's important to you? The Dig is open pretty much all day...of course, there is much to do outdoors with the slides/pools/ocean. There is the casino and Marina Viillage with bars/restaurants/shops for the evening. I have not been to Breezes or Cable Beach yet, but would not hesitate to give it a try when the opportunity allows. I believe you can find all that you are looking for there, as Scubagirrl suggests, but I also think Atlantis is worth taking a look at...if you don't need to experience the pool/slides/beach part of it, a day trip would probably satisfy you.
