Riu Paradise Island VS. Radisson Cable Beach HELP PLEASE

I need feedback PLEASE. I am debating between Riu Paradise Island and Radisson Cable Beach. We want to get married there and many of our family members will be coming along with their children. We will definitely be going all inclusive. I have read good and bad about both. We just returned from Crown Paradise Club in Cancun and the food, staff, beach were all great for us and we dont want to be disappointed by choosing somewhere else, however Mexico is to difficult and expensive to get married, so we are looking into the Bahamas. HELP: )!!

Been to the Crown Paradise in Cancun . Makes the Radisson Cable Beach look like a palace . Don't do it . All inclusive is how we went at the Crown Paradise and it was worth every penny . As for the Radisson , out of our party of 11 with 5 rooms nobody was happy . As a matter of fact of my 55 minutes of vacation video about 40 mins are of other guests venting their complaints ( hence the screenname ) . It was easy to find people complaining , just hang around the lobby for 60 seconds or so . From the minute we arrived to the minute we left , nothing but problems . Read the posted reviews . All is true as far as the following : No A/C in Lobby or Lounges . More rooms without A/C than with . Horrible service everywhere , smelly musty rooms . Nearly impossible to get dinner reservations . The barf-A sucked . Phones in a lot of rooms do not work ( had to walk back and forth to keep tabs on the kids ) Leaking ceilings in bathrooms along with mold stains clearly visible ( In addition to our 5 rooms I checked out about another 12 and they were all disgusting ) . Anyone with asthma or allergies beware . Also the smell of stale cigarette smoke ( yes we asked for and got transfered to non-smoking rooms by day 3)

is everywhere . Even the "non-smoking rooms smelled . They gave us air purifiers for the rooms along with fans but it still sucked . I did see a few happy people and there are some positive reviews , they were probably the ones who thought it was great to get as many cans of beer down as fast as they could while standing in the filthy pool all day chewing tobbacco . Their only complaint might be that there was nowhere to spit out their tobbacco juice ( I guess the pool had to do ) . Believe me if you live in a house with indoor plumbing and A/C just buy a bottle of rum and stay home for the week . We just returned on Friday 8/26/05. Home never looked as good . Best advice I can give is save a few more dollars and look around and whatever you do write off the Radisson Cable beach . Trust me . Good luck .

Re-Read that last post . Still a little emotional from the bad experience at the cable Beach Radisson . What I meant was that the Crown Paradise in Cancun was a palace compared to the Radisson . I also did hear from a few people about the Riu Paradise in the Bahamas . Some guests at the Radisson were trying to switch over to there , I mostly heard that the place was new and nice but that was it . Also forgot to mention that according to the staff at the Radisson they are going to be rebuilding all 3 hotels and mak 1 large resort to try and compete with the Atlantis . All rumors are true and the Bahamas Government does now own the Cable Beach Radisson . Agree on the expense of Cancun but after what we just went through I don't know if I would ever return to the Bahamas . I would still be happy to go back to the Crown Paradise anytime , but you never know how places can change . I was told by another guest at tyr Rad ( a new bride ) that she went there back in March to check the place out and it was fine . She was in tears at the front desk within 2 hours of her arrival and said that while the wedding went OK the place had taken a major step backwards .

I just returned from the Radisson 2 wks ago. Yes there were alot of weddings there but would i have mine there NO!! I don't know how old you are but i'm 40 and been with my husband 25 years and i wouldn't even go there to renew our vows. The resorts to big to many people it's not personable enough. And when you are getting married you want that day to be yours and not many other couples too. The staff there is to rushed not enough staff to go around for that many people the resort is BIG. The RIU Paradise Island is right next to the Atlantis Resort, and is right on the beach. The Radison on Cable Beach is also right on the beach. Both are nice locations, but there is definitely more to do on Paradise Island since you would be right next to the Atlantis, though I've never stayed at either resort, I hope this helps.

go just down the road, I think its called the nassau hotel... a wonderful little family friendly CLEAN resort. It is quaint, charming and romantic.... the hilton isn't really too bad either.

The radisson is now called wyndham cable beach and its a nightmare. The rooms are little, dirty and the beds are more lumpy than the lawn chairs. I think this is all a ploy to keep people in the casino.

You can also make arrangements to get married at the cloisters down on paradise island..... you will never regret that.

I have been to nassau a lot, I have no investment in any of these properties, I tell you this only because I really would hate for somebody to ruin their wedding at cable beach.

read previous message... I am wrong, radisson and wyndham are two different properties, just located right next to each other. I stayed at the wyndham and cannot speak of the radisson.

Dont' do it. Just got back from the Raddison and I would never subject wedding guests to this horrible place. It was dirty and smelly. No place for a wedding. The beach is nice. But this place is straight out of the 80's. And I mean, that's the last time they decorated and cleaned! There are so many other beatufiul places - have you looked into Sandals. We checked out after the 2nd night here and went to Sandals down the road. The Raddison is going to be torn down soon, and believe me they can't do it fast enough.
