You can expect to have one of the best times of your life---assuming that you actually enjoy camping. It's not for everyone, but for some people, it's exactly the tropical experience they've hoped for. You're on one of the most beautiful beaches in one of the most beautiful places in the world. You'll hear the waves. You'll meet nice people. You can snorkel right off the beach that you're camping on. There's a restaurant right there. You're close to other good beaches and not too far from Cruz Bay for other restaurants, bars and markets.

But there may be bugs and donkeys and it can get hot. We accept that as part of being in the tropics, but some folks have a difficult time with it. Not for everyone, but for some people: Paradise.

pack tose OFF mosquito coils in your suitcase. They really work for keeping the bugs at bay and they are compact enough to pack.

Extraordinary deep white sand beach.....beautiful turquoise blue clear waters....excellent view of Jost Van Dyke BVI and the Sir Frances Drake Channel. Only negative on the view, are some of the monstrous sized homes being built on the left or west end of Cinnamon Bay.

Relatively clean east and west end bathrooms, (my experience) dirty

central bathroom.

Excellent individual (bring your own) tent sites.... compared to the not so private and musty on-site (provided army style) tents.

Staff.....some nice, some not so accomodating.

Bottom line, you'll be camping in paradise, whatever hassles perceived or real are, in my view, well worth a near ultimate caribbean setting.

Expect to have an extraordinary time...I've been going to STJ for more than 25 years. IMHO no other place in the Caribbean even remotely compares. I'm filled with envy!!! Take a camera, a swim suit, & bug spray...that should do it.
