stt groceries

Picking up our car in STT at the airport and want to do a grocery run prior to getting on the ferry. Saw Food Center last time we came over, which didn't look too bad. but keep hearing about Cost U Less. Any advice?? Cost U Less is by Home Depot on the road to Red Hook, right?

Hello, Our travel group of 8 usually plans for a stop at Cost-U-Less. We also bring along meats, cheese, sauces, condiments, snacks. We Like Cost-U-Less for beverages, beer, eggs and some other items. What would you be looking to stock up on and is it for two or for a group? That might help with recommendations on where to stop and shop. Our last visit at CUL, we didn't think the produce and fruit looked that great so we waited until we got on STJ. However I have heard other remarks that the produce and fruit was good.

KKLAY,

Just shopping for a family group of four. We don't bother to pack any food from home. Food Center seems to have a good selection and very good fruit and produce, but were wondering about Cost U Less. Have heard things in the past about the produce...need my good fruits and veggies so may stick with Food Center but hope more people chime in! We will be in Coral Bay so we can always hit Lily's or Starfish if in Cruz Bay for what we forget.

Thanks!!

Produce at any of the supermarkets is very dependent on the day of the week that you shop and when their chill trailers come in and are unloaded. That said, I would take CULess produce any day over Food Center's. The most consistently good produce is at Fruit Bowl in the Wheatley Center at the bottom of Raphune Hill and which you'll pass en route to CUL. Have fun!
