Favorite Beaches - Not overly crowded with tourists

Hi,

I will be visiting st.john with my boyfriend from Dec 20-25th and am looking for beaches that we must visit, except we want to try and avoid the crowds as much as possible!

Depends on the winds and waves. Early arrivals get the best picks. If the North swell is up, Salt Pond and Little Lameshur will be buried in people; No North Swell, no problem.

The left side of Hawksnest (walk down the path through the trees), Gibney Beach (limited parking), Jumbie (limited parking), Little Cinnamon (rock scramble), Maho far left side (will need to move some rocks to get smooth spot), Francis far right side are all lower population. They take more work to get to. Rocky beaches have lower populations: Brown Bay, Haulover North, Kiddel, Grootpan, Lameshur - even Hart Bay.

FYI, St. John does not have any beaches that are secluded enough for working on your tan lines sunbathing. $50 ticket!

Cheers, Rick

I was successfully in the buff for a quick stretch on the 'secret beach' a few hours ago. unfortunately we now have some new guests. 6 people isn't too bad :-)

BostontoSTT, YMMV, we have our $50 tickets as conversation pieces. This is definitely not St. Martin, or even Florida.

Are you one of the many "tourist" that don't want to be surrounded by "tourists" (lol) Sorry but Christmas week will be one of the three busiest weeks of the year I doubt you will be alone anywhere but the beaches will be beautiful regardless.
