where to stay in st. thomas

Three couples are going sailing in the BVI's for a week in early January. We are staying in St. Thomas for two nights before returning home. I have read reviews on the Hoiday Inn Windward Passage and although it is in a great location to town it soundsi n need of some TLC. Does anyone know of accomodations for 6 adults for a couple of nights? I would like to do some shopping in Charlotte Amalia but can rent a car if need be.

Thanks in advance!

Wyndam Sugar Bay is a great property. Stayed there several times.

Hi Cathy,

My Danish Manor Home is located just above town, and has vacation rental apartments, fully furnished and equiped, and can accomodate a party of 6. I often have people in just like you, needing a place to land before going to BVI, and again on return. Quite a few from Canada! Somehow, Edmonton people like my place....

If you would like to see some photos of the property, go to www.stthomasworkshop.com, and look under the lodging tab. I do watercolor workshops here in season, but also have the apartments available between, sometime during, the workshop dates.

Please let me know if I may be of help to you and I will be pleased to reply.

travel...check out At Home in the Tropics Bed and Breakfast...one of the top rated B&B's on this forum. Very convenient in Charlotte Amalie for shopping, going out to nice restaurants (Herve & Virgilio for really good (though expensive) food, Tavern on fhe Waterfront for good food and jazz, and Gladys Cafe for excellent lunch). I believe there are only 4 rooms at this B&B so it could be you and friends would have the house to yourselves...
