Is it Worth the Time & Money to go From ST to Dolphin Swim

We are signed up to go from ST to Tortola for the Dolphin Excursion, through our cruise line, in the early part of December. We believe this will be the only time we will ever be able to swim with dolphins. I am having second thoughts after reading about a long, tiring ferry ride and going through customs. If anyone has experienced this, please advise of your thoughts about the ferry ride and customs.

Vests can be rather cumbersome, a bit warm and some "ride up" but, yes, excursion operators carry vests and other flotation devices as do all the dive shops.
