Please help id this bug

Hi,

We just returned from St Thomas and had a wonderful time.

I noticed this bug was on the walls outside the house we rented.

Can't seem to find it online.

Any help with the name ?

Hi

Thanks for your reply.

Well, it could be.

I did an image search and most of the pics show the bagworm moth being considerably

bigger. I should have provided a size reference. They were only about 1" long at best, and

about 1\4" or so wide.

If I hadn't seen some very odd "critters" here over the years I'd question what you were drinking to imagine this as a living creature as it looks like a piece of debris! I've no idea what it is but I rather doubt it's a moth of any kind. I've been totally surprised many times by suddenly seeing something move which bears no resemblance to anything animate, from BIG stick insects to miniscule things which look like leaves and then poke a teeny wormy head out to move around!

Wow! That's cool! Closest I can come is this...

Read down in article to learn this insect's various forms of camouflage, and decide let us know if it fits your bug.

Hi,

I added a few more photos of the bugs in question.

Unfortunately, they aren't real great photos and one

might really need to zoom in to see them in any detail

at all.

LOL on the what I had been drinking.... Can you say, homemade Ginger Beer ?...Sampled a new batch

at Cuzzin's-really good !

I will go check the link above to look at the wikipedia article. More later.

Nope on the stick bugs . This was definately not as skinny or as long as stick bugs which I have seen in

my past life as an elementary school teacher.

Got me intrigued now !

We had a bag worm infestation this past year and I pulled a lot of them off our shrubs. Sure looks like a bag worm to me.
