Nightlife here is pretty sedate. You won't find late night clubs like in some other vacation spots, but some bars do usually stay open later, like Club 54 and Brew Pub. On Northside Rd., 2+2 doesn't even get going till way after midnight, but that's not in C'sted. There are other clubs like that flung about the island.

There are many good restaurants in town, it all depends on what you like and what you want to spend.

The drinking age here is 18, and most places are pretty lax about carding.

Parrot's Cove (located in Christiansted above the Purple Papaya Gift Shop) stays open late and has live music. It's relatively new and we heard from various bartenders and servers that it has quickly become the after-hours place of choice in town. The legal drinking age in STX is 18--we had two 21-year-olds, a 20-year-old, and a 19-year old with us. None of them was ever asked for I.D.

Most of the bars in Christiansted are on the waterfront or one or two blocks in. All are in every easy walking distance. Maybe just spend the first night "sampling" different places - but I agree with earlier posts that the nightlife is a little sedate.
