We stayed there last year. LOVED IT! Very rustic so no frills but you are right on the sea. Let me know if you have questions.

I believe that stcroixrentavilla is located on the east coast of the US. Just be sure that whether you rent from them or from the owner that you have someone local that will meet you at the airport and guide you to the villa and that you can turn to if you need them. We prefer to rent from a local villa management company (any island) for just these reasons.

Stcroixrentavilla is located in N J; the owners are visitors to the Island but do not live here.

I would rent directly from the owners or their on Island representative.

We rented through rent a villa and they were great! Anne is really nice and very easy to deal with. She is on island for 4 months per year during the busy time. They have local people working for them. We were met at the airport and guided to our villa by Phillip, he was really great. Stopped by to check on us evey few days. Picked up laundry and offered to help with what ever we needed. Eat was within walking distance as well as Off the Wall, which has a really great bacon cheezburger pizza! Roudy Joe's you would need to drive to and it is only a 10 minute drive. Well worth it. Grat food, great atmospere and great live music on the weekend. We loved the cottage. I felt safe there. Everyone you meet is very nice. Let me know if you have any additional questions.

I really don't think you need to be met at the airport. We own two vacation rentals on the island and do not use the services of a vacation rental company. We supply our guests with very detailed directions and a good map. We have never had anyone get lost. If you do rent directly from an owner, be sure that they give you a 24/7 contact number. Every owner I know on the island that rents their properties themselves has a local caretaker that is available 24/7 and will also be available to take care of any issues. We have plumbers, electricians, A/C guys, etc., that will handle any problems promptly. A vacation rental company cannot do it any better!

I disagree. We have rented a lot of villas and have had some problems - all owner rentals where things were not as pictured and problems were not addressed promptly or at all. Our best rentals on STT, STJ, and STX have all been through on-island management companies. Travel 334: you sound like a great owner who plans to take care of your guests but, unfortunately, the ones we came into contact with were not like that we just won't take the chance anymore - vacations are just too short and too precious. as far as not needing to be market at the airport - perhaps your properties are easy to find - not all are, especially high hillside villas. Even though we now know the island roads pretty well if we are staying at a property for the first time we prefer to be guided there and to do a walk-around with the villa escort - just to make sure everything is as we expected it to be.
