Day Trips & Nightlife on Provo

Going to be in T&C next month for the first time for 4 nights, pretty excited. I love to get out of the "resort" area and explore what the island(s) have to offer. So I have a couple of questions.

1. I have seen Parrot Cay, Iguana Island, North Turks..etc but I am curious as to what is a cost effective way to see other islands and the activities that are worth a trip to those islands. Would it be better to just just stay on Provo?

2. Our "resort" says that it has bars/restaurants on it but I wanted to see is there an actual night life in Provo? Seems as if everything is pretty low key there and I have heard stories of bars at hotels closing pretty early so wanted to see if there was anything around the Grace Bay area main drag that was worth going to for some fun and drinks...also safety is a priority.

Where this is your first trip I would stay on Provo and explore around there. You can save North and Middle Caicos for your return trip.

Which resort are you staying at?

TCI is not a party destination, but you can find places to go to and things to do at night, some within the Grace Bay area and others not.

Thanks for the response. Staying at Somerset, looks to be centrally located and kept up well. Yeah I should have been more specific, not looking to really party, just want a fun environment to experience the island and grab a few drinks while doing so. I was planning on doing a tuesday BBQ at Somerset, hitting up Da Conch Shack and maybe a nice dinner one night at Anacaona or Grace Cottage.

4 nights is not enough time to explore surrounding islands.

Do a 1/2 day excursion with either Island Vibes or Caicos Dream Tours. They go to glorious Half Moon Bay (which you refer to Iguana Island) this beach is stunning!

Rent a car and explore Provo. Check out Chalk Sound, where the water is so turquoise it glows. Check out Sapadilla and Taylor Bays, like giant wading pools. Check out Da Conch Shack at Blue Hills, so colorful!

Not much real nightlife. Either a night pass to Club Med, or locals start at Vix, followed by Sandbar, followed by Danny Bouys all at Regent Village, or later at Jimmys Dive Bar and Casablanca Casino.

Save other islands for day trips on return or longer visit.

The highlight of my trip was horseback riding in the water with Provo Ponies, so that is my recommendation. We went on the 90 min ride.

Somerset will be a great spot for your stay.

Not much nightlife on the island.

Off property....could have drinks at Bay Bistro right next door at Sibonne or at Regent Palms around the pool or later in the day at P23 restaurant bar.

First trip to Provo.....half day excursion and just enjoy the beach.
