What's better: Grace Bay Club or Gansevoort?

Here are some specifics:

-- Which one is located on a better part of Grace Bay, in terms of the beach, swimming, less crowds, less noise?

-- Which one has nicer rooms? Which has nicer views from rooms?

-- Which has better amenities? More water sport availability?

-- Which has better restaurants and bars?

-- Which has the best location, in regard to being fairly uncrowded, while also close to restaurants, shopping, etc.?

-- Which feels more worth the money?

-- Which has better service?

Thanks in advance...

First, welcome to the forum. :-)

Better, nicer, best,... according to who? These are all completely subjective, and our personal tastes are irrelevant, IMO.

Start over, and tell us what's most important for YOU and your vacation experience.

These are both very nice resorts, with very different atmospheres. There are also numerous other very nice resorts along Grace Bay, so tell us about your "dream resort," and the forum can help you narrow down the best choices -- for you. :-)

Both resorts are very nice but very different.

Gansevoort -

This resort is located furthest west on Grace bay Beach having a public park located to the west and the West Bay Club right next door to the east.

Has a very modern feel and vibe to the property.

Seems to attract a younger hip crowd with the sleek white furniture and modern fittings of the resort.

Bagetelle Bistrot located on property for dining options.

Would most likely need a car as there is not much located within a short walk.

Is located closer to off shore snorkeling.

Live music on the weekends.

Grace Bay Club

High standards of service at this resort.

This property is more sprawling with three separate accommodation levels.

The Estates are the newest and most luxurious. Private cabanas and a gorgeous pool and bar area.

The Villas - middle category and has own bars and pools

The Hotel - the original section of the resort.

Has the infinity bar and the outdoor lounge area.

Upscale restaurant on property with slack requirement for gents.

Seems to attract a sophisticated crowd.

This resort is located closer to walking distance to more restaurants, but a car would also be very handy.

Farther from snorkel locations

Both properties are very nice and have their following.

just very different in my opinion.

Hope that this helps.

Mike

Yeah, I was assuming any responses would be subjective since I was asking for opinions. That's what I want.

And my original post, I thought, made it pretty clear what I specifically wanted opinions on.

Thanks.

I'll try to answer your questions as asked, even though I have only visited, but never stayed at either.

Better part of the beach: Both are similar for swimming, Gansevoort has less crowds, noise depends on who is there on that day. I have seen loudmouths at both areas ; )

Rooms and views are nice at both, just very different style.

Water sports are a tossup.

Restaurants and bars I would give to Grace Bay Club, although Gansevoort has a DJ on the weekends if that is what you are looking for. Grace Bay Club shuts down by 11pm.

Gansevoort is in a less crowded area, but Grace Bay Club is by far the best for being close to shopping and restaurants.

More worth the money is entirely personal, so a toss up.

Service seems to be better at Grace Bay Club, although both are generally good.

O.k.,

Both are located on very nice sections of Grace Bay, in terms of the beach, swimming, crowds, and noise.

Both offer very nice rooms and views.

Both offer very nice amenities and water sports.

Both have very good restaurants and bars.

Both have uncrowded locations, with GBC being closer to shopping and a few more restaurants.

Both are well worth whatever you'd like to spend.

Both have excellent service.

Hope this helps.

Thanks, that was really helpful.

Do you have to get some kind of transportation to the snorkeling locations from either hotel?

Is there any difference in the beach location of each hotel?

We would probably stay in a 2-bedroom villa suite at Grace Bay Club and then the 2-bedroom spa suite at Gansevoort. I know this is asking a lot, but do you have any opinion which room would be better? The overall room and the view.

Thanks. I really appreciate it.

You can walk to snorkeling from The Gansevoort, and you would need a car or taxi to get there from Grace Bay Club.

They are several miles from each other, but both have very nice beaches. The Gansevoort has some turtle grass in the ocean, which is no big deal.

I have not seen either of the rooms, but I am sure both are spectacular. Grace Bay Club is more old school, Gansevoort is more South Beach as far as style. It all comes down to your preference.
