where to stay location wise on Provo?

Is it essential to stay on Grace Bay, or is Sappodilla Bay ok? If renting a villa on the beach, are there bug issues in certain parts of the island...other things to consider? Any thoughts and recommendations would be great!

Sapodilla Bay has beautiful water as well but the beach is small and not as beautiful or long as Grace Bay. If you are comfortable with renting a car and driving to retaurants at Turtle Cove (10-15 min.) and at Grace Bay (abt. 20 min.) as well as to reefs, Grace Bay for water sports, and to the marina for water excursions, you'll be fine. Sapodilla Bay affords almost total privacy and you'll have to be your own entertainment for most of the time. It's a great option as many of the villas look great and are priced well. If you want to spend your days lounging and splashing in beautiful water, it's great but be prepared to travel a few minutes for dinners out or anything else you may need. It's a small island and we found everything easily and driving to be simple as well.

Stay on grace bay...coraL gardens would be a great recommendation...sapodilla bay is not as nice with terrbile roads and you have to travel to go to restaurants,...grace bay is lined with restaurants all within 5 minutes....not to mention a MUCH BETTER BEACH!

Sapodilla Bay is lovely, but I have to agree that as far as beaches go, Grace Bay is a nicer beach. The bay is shallow, for one thing, which would be great for children but if you like adult swimming and playing in the water, you will be happier on Grace Bay. We had no problem with bugs other than a day or two after a rain we had to use bug spray at dinner, but it wasn't bad at all on the other days.

One plus of Sapodilla Bay is that you are so close to beautiful Chalk Sound! By far the prettiest water we saw on our trip.
