Captive Dolphin

The brain trust that is the elected government has expressed its support for a captive dolphin exhibit in Grand Turk.

Following the meeting at the House of Assembly Building on Grand Turk, attended by the Premier, Minsiters and all members, the Cabinet Secretary issued the following report.

...agreed, following an strong indication of support from the residents of Grand Turk in a public consultation, to support the development proposed by Dolphin Cove on Grand Turk. The support is subject to the developer submitting a planning application and complying with planning and other relevant requirements. The Minister for Environment and Home Affairs will sign the relevant seabed licensing permission, which is a pre-requisite for the Physical Planning Board to consider in due course a planning application from the developer.

I urge everyone that cares about this type of backward thinking to boycott visiting our "capital" island (or even this country in general) and voice your concerns about this type of "attraction" that has no place in the modern world.

lyonfish just to let you know that Provo will NOT be right behind on this. Their original plan was to put it in Provo but there was such an outcry they switched tactics to Grand Turk where unfortunately unemployment is a lot higher and they were able to sell their snake oil.
