Don't walk with valuable and jewelery. Watch out for pick pockets as you will be in large crowds. Keep money in you front pocket and keep 5 and 10 dollar bills seperate from the larger currency. Use these to purchase drinks, food. etc. Keep Hydrated and watch you alchaol consumption. Sun stroke can spoil you carnival.

Keep looking on-line closer to carnival. Some site will post the parade route for the carnival band. Use this to find the best position to view the bands. Woodbrook is generally a good location.

Check out Tribes, Hearts, Poison and some other big band websites. They will normally show their assembly points which is good place to take pictures of costume as they are fresh and clean. You can then choose to "jump" with the band as they hit the streets.

Jamie, is it a coincidence, or do you know the other poster (also from Holland) that is also staying at Mt. St. Benedict for the Carnival?

That's good of Pax to provide transportation. The other poster from Holland didn't know this and was asking how to get to POS where the Carnival Parades take place.

You'll be needing transport (if Pax doesn't provide it) along the route called the Eastern Main Rd. which is normally a very busy route. As someone else said, it might be very difficult to get a taxi on Carnival days.

As for Tobago, around Carnival time it will be one of the busiest in flights to and from Tobago. Read some more messages in the forum. I'm sure there's mention of the fare to Tobago, which, btw, has very nice beaches and clear water.

And remember to heed what the other poster said about keeping your cash out of sight as much as possible. Your gf should not wear any fancy jewelry, in fact, better to not wear any at all.

When you walk among the Carnival crowds beware of pickpockets. The streets where the Carnival Bands parade will be jam packed with spectators.
