safety for carnival 2014

Hello we are a group of men planning a trip to Trinidad for the carnival. What are the safe area of port of spain to stay in and recommended lon budget accommodation.

I also have family there that will show us around. Should this keep us safe.

We want to be in the best area to party, enjoy carnival, meet ladies but also be safe.

Look in the right hand column for a list of hotels and guest houses and ask a local family member what they would suggest. But one thing you can be sure of ... the good low budget properties will already be booked for 2014 Carnival.

You will stillT be able to find accomodations at this time as you are planning relatively early. The safe areas to stay which would be convenient would be Woodbrook or in the vacinity of the US embassy by the Queen Park Savannah. Look for a guest house. I have seen the following on Picton Street which would provide you with relatively easy access to the action. Par-May-La's Inn www.parmaylas.com and Sundeck suites email: reservation@sundeck.co.tt

My group & I stay at either Kapok or Hilton every year. It's close to everything. Especially convenient on Carnival Monday & Tuesday because you can just want back to the Hotel after the parade. Kapok is right next to Brian Lara's house which is super close the night of his fete!
