Accommodations OUTSIDE of Kingston

It seems as if the vast majority of hotels/B&Bs mentioned here are in Kingston. Does anyone have any recommendations for accommodations near a beach up either of the coasts or am I being naïve to believe such places exist? I am not super picky.

Thanks for your help!

Right at the end of the road, literally there is Richmond Vale. Rustic, but very inexpensive and easy access to the volcano.

The famous Buccramet Bay.

Must be other guest houses out there.

Tranquillity Beach apt Hotel, basic but clean, beautiful views especially sunsets. directly overlooks Indian Bay, less than 10 minutes from the airport unles there's traffic, the price is right, and the owner Lucelle in 2 words the best :)

If you are up for a little drive. Head up to Wallilabou and stay at the Wallilabou Anchorage Hotel. Great view. Shef is a wonderful host and go visit some waterfalls the next morning like Dark Falls or the simpler Wallilabou Falls. Also a great meal at Orlandos!

Have fun.

I usually go for Beachcombers. Nice people, nice swimming beach. Beautiful bit of coastline. Several restaurants and bars within walking distance. Close enough to the airport and town but away from the bustle.

Barefoot Suites just outside Calliaqua - all have ocean-view veranda, a/c, cable TV, free Wi-Fi, fridge. There's a Mediterranean restaurant there and an air-conditioned wine bar. barebum@caribsurf.com. $ 90 plus 10% tax.

Hi - Everyone is comparing accommodations on ST. Vincent - what happens when you throw in Young Island resort? How does this compare to the other accommodations listed in this post?

Yoiung Island is the closest thing I've been to that is near high end in St. Vincent. Charming hillside cottagey rooms with their own plunge pools, good food and in-room service and caters for vegetarians as well. Beach isn't much and prices are high but you can sometimes get deals if staying for more than a few days.
