Canash beach apartments

Hi all. Has anyone stayed here or looked around? The website looks very good. What are the rooms like? How close is it to a nice sandy beach good for suntanning and swimming? What about grocery stores etc? Would it be possible to get around by public transport or would we need to rent a car? Grateful for any info. Many thanks.

Hi, I haven't stayed here but I have driven past. Its position is good, nice beach although full of yachts and all they bring with them ... The rooms look fairly basic but nothing less than one would expect or need. Getting around St Vincent is relatively easy and these apartments are very close to the main bus/mini van route where you can gain swift and cheap access around most of the island, to include trips to the more popular beaches of Indian Bay and Villa as well as the capital of Kingstown. Getting groceries isn't a problem - many shops/supermarkets are within easy reach.

Hope you have a good time

We have spend 9 very nice and relaxing days at Canash beach apartments this year's June. The owner, Bert Williams, is always eager to help you in any matter, may it be planning trips around the island or to the Grenadines islands. We arrived there late at night and first thing in the morning was that he himself went shopping with us, an offer we really appreciated.

The apartments are big, clean and well equiped. If anything else is needed, we just had to tell Bert or one of his guys and they would care about it. The beach is small, but very nice, too. There are a lot of yachts nearby because of the marina next to the ressort, but that was at least no problem for us. For those who cannot live with that, there is a big pool available too.

People are very friendly althrough the island, so no matter that way, too.

We chose to rent a car for the time there - because of the condition of streets, I would really recommend a 4x4 like we had! We rent it with Gregg's Investments Limited. The car was a Toyota RAV4, well condition, and the people there are very friendly and helpful, too! Don't forget that you have to get a local driving license at the police station for being allowed to drive on the island (around 60 EC). In our case, Gregg

himself fetched us from Canash and drove us to the police (he seems to know everybody around there) and afterwards to his place.

It is fairly easy to get everywhere by car and the local mass taxis, to Kingstown it's only a quarter of an hour's drive (except for between 7.30 and 9.00 in the morning because of an excessive traffic jam towards town), there is a big supermarket right at the airport, some smaller ones on the way there.

You should definitely try to make a trip to the Grenadines, especially to Tobago Cays. We took an offer from Fantasea Tours, situated at Villa. close by to Canash. People there took us to an impressive trip to the islands so that we had a wonderful day, starting from the wonderful beach at Mayreau, a nice lunch at Union Island and, as the best, snorcheling together with turtles at the Tobago Cays.

Altogether, we had a wonderful time in St. Vincent - and probably we will come back one day!

Thank you for your really helpful review, I am planning to go to St Vincent next year and have been looking at Canash Beach apartments. Did you stay in an apartment or cottage? and did you have a kitchen area?

Thanks

Stayed here for 3 weeks in 2011. Definitely my best stay in Vincy thus far. Bert is not only an amazing host but very helpful and accommodating. The apartments are spacious, fully equipped and user friendly. Had a FABULOUS time, very serene and peaceful area as well...

Thanks so much Bert and Canash Staff

Sorry to piggy-back on someone else's thread but I'm looking for somewhere to stay on St. Vincent in two weeks time (!) and this place sounds really good - has anyone got any photos?
