Petite St. Vincent or Bequia

Greetings all: Your travel wisdom is required. Currently planning our honeymoon (we would also like to get married on the beach - just the two of us). However we are not sure if PSV or Bequia would be more suitable for us.

Lately we've been enjoying mainly Vieques (basically due to its beautiful beaches, Carribean flavor and not being a tourist trap - yet). However, for our honeymoon we would like to splurge a little, but still prefer to avoide huge resort mass tourist type places (such as St. Thomas, Antigua etc. - living in a large city makes us enjoy staying away from the mass crowds "tourist traps"). Our style is a little more laid back, we enjoy lovely beaches, somewhere off the beaten "tourist paths", good food, relaxation - oh and did I say white sand and blue waters. Since its our honeymoon, a little pampering would be nice too :-)

Suggestions are very much appreciated.

Regards, Caroline

PSV is an all inclusive resort and that's all there is on the island.

If you want a resort experience, Bequia is not for you. It would, however, meet all your other criteria. You might want to splurge a bit for your wedding, consider the Plantation House which, I believe, even does a wedding special and is one of the prettiest hotels on the island, with lovely grounds. Its beach, however, is small. That said, only a short water-taxi ride away in the next bay is deserted Princess Margaret (aks Tony Gibbons) beach which has been used very successfully for wedding ceremonies over the years. Have a look at www.bequia.net or www.bequiatourism.com and follow the links to Plantation House.
