Looking for local beach bar

We love the Shipwreck Beach Bar in St Kitts and are hoping that Nevis has it's own version with a lovely beach, fun bar and monkeys. Any suggestions? We have only 1 day there as we're on a cruise.

Sunshine’s, Lime, Double Deuce and Turtle Time - all at Pinney’s Beach. Slightly more upscale is Chrishi Beach at Cade’s Bay.

None have monkeys although they do run wild on the island so you might or might not see them.

Thanks. My husband loves monkeys. Anywhere you can suggest we go so he can see them?

Monkeys run wild on Nevis - there are more of them on the island than people and quite frankly those of us who live on the island think of them as pests as they destroy crops and ornamental planting. Still many tourists are fascinated by them.

You'll find lots of monkeys roaming on some of the fairways of the Four Seasons Golf Course, in the "park area" near Pinney's beach, at the age of the rain forest and even crossing the roadways just about anywhere around the island. Monkeys are very active early in the morning when they come down from the rainforest to the Lowlands in search of food and again late in the afternoon when they make their way back to the rain forest. There are sometimes so many of them it looks like a "monkey parade". You are bound to see monkeys simply by driving around the island and keeping your eyes open. They only place you won't see them is in the more populated areas of Charlestown. WORD OF CAUTION: Do not try to approach or pet wild monkeys - they can be vicious and they bite.

UGH!!@ Auto-correct strikes again - "... at the age of the rain forest..." should obviously be "... at the edge of the rain forest..."

There are now some monkey "feeding stations" on Nevis, where you're guaranteed to see them at the appointed times they feed them. I don't know if they're open for tourists to attend. You can contact Hermitage and ask - they host one of the main stations. And sadly (I think), we don't have any beach bars like Shipwreck (that looks like a wreck) on Nevis anymore. But if you're only going to hit one beach bar in Nevis, it has to be Sunshines, one of the most famous in the Caribbean. And you have to drink a killer bee.

The only tour you should not go on is to Timotjy Hill. A man named Charsley sits up there with a baby monkey trying to get money for pictures. My horrible experience was he handed me a 4 week old baby monkey he had beat up with a bleeding fat lip he tried to say was berries. Come to find out every islander knows of this man,. He has tore baby monkeys heads off, thrown them out cars, and beaten them until they were convulsing in front of tourist if you don't take the monkey for money. He is banded from having a monkey, and the islanders call the police but they are tired of putting him in jail so they've given up. He is also dangerous to tourist. He becomes violent when you don't take the monkey. He has hit and pushed a70 year old lady and a little girl along with threatening with a knife and scissors at the monkeys throat. Be careful on the tours.one lady was so scared she wouldn't get off the bus. See more at STOP THE ST KITTS MONKEY ABUSER on Facebook. Call the police if you see him. LINSDAY GRANT TOURISM MINISTER who is supposed to protect the tourist will not respond to the over 150k request to get him off the streets.
