Royal St. Kitts Hotel & Casino beach access

I understand that the beach is a 2 - 3 minute walk from the Royal St. Kitts Hotel but am not getting a clear vision of what this entails. Is it across the road from the hotel? Does the hotel have a beach bar or any other facility there? Are there beach chairs, umbrellas.....? Is it a long beach - good for walking/jogging? What about swimming? Snorkeling? If you have stayed there, any room, or section of rooms, that you would recommend? Going for March Break Thanks.

You would be across the street from the Marriott.I think there is a passage way beside the Marriott's grounds to access the beach area. The beach is on the Atlantic side,so it can be rough at times.I have snorkled there on a calm day and seen the odd Stingray, but not much more. There are other beaches around that offer better snorkling.Probably see you snorkling,We are there for spring break also.

The Atlantic side beach (AKA North Frigate Bay) is just across the road. The area where the Royal St. kitts has it's cabana (more on that below) is about a 5 to 7 minute minute walk. It's adjacent to the Marriott Beach. The beach itself is quite long and good for walking. Because it is on the Atlantic side the water can be "wavy" at times - sorry no way to predict when the most wave action will occur. There is a man-made breakwater off of the Marriott Beach area which lessens the wave action at that part of the beach. The snorkeling along any of the Atlantic side beaches is minimal. The Royal St. Kitts Resort operates the "De Lime Cabana" beach bar on that beach several days a week (Wednesday through Saturday, I think - check their website for details). Yes, they have a few lounge chairs and umbrellas.

You can walk across the golf course (about 10 to 15 minutes) to one of the Caribbean side beaches (South Frigate Bay) from the resort. I believe the resort offer shuttle buses every 30 minutes to aother beaches in the area.

The best snorkeling on the island is at Shitten Bay and accessible only by boat. There are several tour operators which do 1/2 day and full day snorkeling trips. The concierge at the resort can make arrangements for you. Yoy'll find some decent but not great "off-beach snorkeling at South Frigate Bay, South Friars Beach, White House Bay, Turtle Beach and Cockelshell Beach. You can walk to South Frigate Bay from the Royal St. Kitts but you'll need a taxi or rental car to reach the other beaches as they are on the southern penninsula.

devis12....do you have google earth on your computer....if you do it shows perfectly where the walk would be.....I lived there for six months when the royal st kitts was closed so I am guessing their beach location would be accessible by the laneway between the mariott tennis courts and the marriot employee housing.....the water is rough there as it is away from the mariott breakwall and you can walk for about 20 minutes.....nice partly secluded section of beach.

The access to the beach is right across the drive way from the hotel. You won't have problems finding it. De Lime is their beach bar and offers entertainment during the weekend (evenings). They have some chairs there too. Remember that it is the Atlantic side which is rougher than the Caribbean side. If you are here for March Break, you definitely want to check out "De Strip", a beach on the caribbean side of the island (15 minutes walk) with plenty of bars and entertainment there. You will love this place. Long? Depends what you consider long. Most people go jogging along the main road or up the hill to the lookout.
