Ritz Carlton- honeymoon in October

Has anyone been to the Ritz recently? I have read the postings about the service not being that great. It looks like a great hotel. Can anyone comment on recent service and food? Also, what kind of alcohol is served?

The Ritz is HUGE. Stayed in a condo near there and toured the public spaces of the buildings and grounds. Much better to stay in the rooms on the 7 Mile Beach side (those were running $900-$1000/NIGHT when we were there last month) because it is quite a walk to the beach from the building on the other side of the street where most of the rooms are located. Most of the people staying at the Ritz were on business meeting/convention trips.

The beach area is large and beautiful. There are big pools on the beachside and on the other side. Not a single soul spotted at the pool on the non-beachside. Ritz has a nice bar right at beach and they serve whatever you would want.

People seemed to like the restaurant named "7"...there are 3 restaurants at the Ritz, but there are so many great restaurants on Grand Cayman you miss out if you stick just to the ones at the hotel.

From the question over what type of alcohol is served, I think you may be assuming it is an all-inclusive.. it is not... and Cayman only has a couple of smaller hotels that offer that option at all... just so you know :)
