Snorkeling at Rum Point - under the dock

On the island now and having a BLAST. Just wanted to share our experience at Rum Point yesterday. Current was too strong to head out to the good stuff, despite our best efforts. On the way back in, my husband wanted to take a video of under the dock. Thought that was a waste of video, but whatever.

He came across a big moray eel wrapped around one of the piers. Stuck his GoPro down to video him, and he charged a bit.

So there you go. If you're in the water, be aware of your surroundings, even in the spots where it's "safe"/not much to see.

Testudo, wonder if it was the same guy we saw last year further out.

Could be! Now where's that video? Did you happen to say hi to Mrs T. & friend on the point?

He's got to edit it yet. I did see some ladies out there; figured one was likely Mrs. T!

Out of all the critters in the sea Moray eels worry me the most and Jelly Fish.

Check this out Booya. Great white in Key Largo. Apparently just a week or two ago.

Weird video. Those were not very good divers. Crazy gear. Bad buoyancy, hanging on the wreck I would think there would be much more of a reaction if a White Shark showed up on your decent. They just sort of continued on. I would love to get Retrips' opinion on this one.

I actually didnt watch it after the shark swam away. It was odd how they reacted and then went to the wreck so quick. Do you think its fake? That will really tick me off.

I think they might have cut in the shots of the shark. I would not put it by anybody who wears those hideous wetsuits :)

My trip report is coming soon! I typed too much; need to edit it down.

That shark video is wild!
