Residence Atlantide, or Paradis Caraibes?

Hi, we are planning a trip in January and hope to spend 3 nights in Grand Case. It's hard to find anything under $350/night, but there are some options at Residence Atlantide and Paradis Caraibes. The former has mixed reviews but they are from several years ago. I can't find any reviews for Paradis Caraibes. Does anyone have any advice? Thank you!

My brother stayed at Atlantide a year ago and I think its very nice.I was staying up the road at the time, but we had cocktails every night on his balcony which was gorgeous. Its not the Ritz, so dont expect that. Its a good clean place. Its right on the beach, safe and right in the middle of Grand Case so you can walk to the restaurants at night with no issues. I do remember two negatives. One, there is no parking, you have to park on the street which is not ideal and two the owner has a few cats that live in the lobby. I like cats so it want an issue for me, but maybe for you.

Thank you for both answers! The research continues...

njgregd, having a balcony with a view is one of our top criteria, and everything else you say sounds just right for us too. We won't have a car, and as long as the cats don't sneak into the room, that's fine! We don't need all the extras that you usually find at the bigger resorts.

Thanks Bobcat, yes I looked at Doves Nest, they have a room for us but it's on the lowest floor and may not have the awesome view we are looking for, also it's a shared terrace, not a private balcony. I have emailed California and not heard back yet. Problem is, we only want to stay for 3 nights in high season so not many places will consider that.

I really appreciate all the help. This is our first visit to St Martin and I am really enjoying all the planning. We will stay 4 nights in Marigot and 3 in Grand Case, can't wait.

Beach Plaza is a favorite of visitors from France. Do they include breakfast in the room rate? If not, I highly recommend a short stroll down to the Marina Port La Royale and to La Croissanterie for a really great breakfast - the place looks like a "hole in the wall" - don't let that turn you away, come early for fresh baked croissants...
