Caravarserai Hotel

I just saw a great deal on this hotel/resort(?) in St Martin. I couldn't find any info here. Has anyone heard of it or stayed here? I'm worried about booking at an unknown hotel. It's supposed to be a 4 star.

We have just returned from our timeshare at the Caravanserai Feb 18th to the 25th We own a one-bedroom suite with two bathrooms. The bedroom has it’s own balcony overlooking the small pool by the gardens and a king bed, one of the baths are part of the bedroom, and a door can be closed to separate them from the rest of the unit. The second bath is in the hallway going to the living room. The sofa in the living room is a pullout Queen bed for two with a large balcony with an ocean front view. The kitchen has a full refeg. a microwave oven, coffee maker, toaster and blender. We love our unit and would not trade it. However, The Caravanserai is in the middle of trying to get all of its approvals for construction to begin on the new timeshares and condos. The tennis courts are gone. All but one store for shopping are closed. The casino is still not open and the tiki bar and pool at Bamboo Bernies are closed for renovations. The French rest that was open last year was closed the week we were there. We spoke with the owner and he told us the new date for construction to begin will be April 10th or 12th. Nevertheless, I would assume this is island time. (If you would like to see some pics of the Caravanserai go to our homepage click on (links) then (more pics and trip reports)

And a word of caution. It's at the end of the airport runway. Some love it for that reason, some don't.

Those that don't care about the airport seem to love the resort.
