best seafood in St. Martin???

Hi we are going to St. Martin and staying at Le Petit in March and wondering where the best seafood places are? We don't like spicy but love lobster, shrimp, fresh fish etc. Ant ideas from well traveled St. Martins?

We first visited via cruise last year but will be staying for a week and are really looking forward to it. Also any one have a recomendation for snorkeling trips?

Thanks,

Sailfish

Do both at once: go to Grand Case Beach Club at the other end of Grand Case from Le Petit and get the watersports people to take you out to Creole Rock for snorkeling. Get some fabulous mussels for lunch at Sunset Cafe overlooking Creole Rock after your snorkel.

In truth, almost every restaurant has some seafood and it's all good. We've had memorable seafood at Nettuno (salmon in a phyllo dough), Bistro Caraibes (French seabass and a fisherman's platter, Marmite du Pcheur), L'Auberge Gourmande (French seabass, again), California (lobster and a mussels and lotte combo), Mambo (fisherman's platter, Marmite du Pcheur), La Marine (sauted shrimp in soy and coriander sauce), Spiga (tuna).

Snorkeling is also good at Pinel Island and off Orient on the reef heading SE from Pedro's.

For terrific seafood go to Claude's Mini Club in Marigot on Wednesday for their Lobster and seafood buffet-- best of its kind! Also, L'Arhawak in Marigot has a Lobster and Water Shrimp (unusual) barbecue on Saturday night for 16 Euros per person! Don't miss the fabulous Guavaberry Coladas here as well!

Sol e Luna is actually a French restaurant (in spite of the name) that has stunningly gorgeous decor, and fabulous food miles above the tourist-type restaurants in Grand Case. Sol e Luna is in Cul de Sac on the road to the Mont Vernon. You will also find about 20 very good restaurants in the Marina Port Royale in Marigot with a much more laid back atmosphere than in Grand Case. But do go to the Tuesday parades in Grand Case, and eat at one of the lolos. (Opposite Le Pub) You can get a giant, awesome, grilled lobster at these lolos!

Grand Case- Ti Provencal has the freshest fish. Highly recommend but bring cash since it is a new place and they don't have credit card access as of yet. Also Le Pressior is wonderful.

i can recommend esmeralda resort. i think it's private (way out on the north east side of the island). anyway, awesome dinner if you want to sit outside by the stars while you eat. it's $$$$ which may or may not be something you are interested in.
