St. Martin or St. Lucia

For a quick, fun, and romantic getaway for 2 in August, sandy white beaches (would prefer the place with better beaches definitely), not too touristy, things to do during the day - some place scenic and colorful, would like some night-life, but nothing very crowded, but not too boring...looking for seclusion, relatively speaking...if anyone can recommend one of the two, would you recommend travelling to St. Martin or St. Lucia....please advise, thanks....again, would like whichever place has better beaches, all things considered...

Thanks alot...

Pugsnladybugs:

You won't be disappointed in St. Lucia: The beaches are beautiful and because of the Volcano -Soufrière-, there is a rain forest and a lot to see and enjoy. The beaches are beautiful too and cleaner than some beaches on the Saint-Martin French side.

Saint-Martin doesn't have any river, therefore there isn't much vegetation and the island can be quite dry if it hasn't rain for a while.

However, if you want to enjoy French gourmet cuisine, your island would be Saint-Martin -Grand Case-.

In St. Lucia you can enjoy creole and continental cuisine.

Best,
