Hermitage Cottage

I am considering renting the "Hermitage Cottage" by the Pitons. I haven't seen very many reviews about this property and was wondering if anyone knew much about it? Ive been trying to find the cottage via google earth but I have no physical address and the location map on the website seems a little off.

I would appreciate any input.

Jamie

About the house

Hermitage Cottage is situated on the Caribbean side of the Island of St.Lucia overlooking the famous landmark on the island and Ladera Resort, 10 minutes drive from the town of Soufriere.

The Cottage was built in 1972 with local stones and has just been renovated. It comprises of two bedrooms (queen-size beds) with bathrooms en suite; a Sitting-room, a fully equipped kitchen and an outdoor kitchen (bar sink, Vermont Castings Signature Barbeque with side burner). All rooms open onto a 700sq.ft tiled terrace overlooking the Petit Piton and the Caribbean Sea – truly a spectacular view!

The property is on one acre of secluded private grounds with a large pool also overlooking the Petit Piton.

Magdelena comes every morning to make beds, clean and cook should you require her to. Ferred, our gardener, looks after the pool.

Grocery shopping is available in Soufriere.

A car is a must for this property. the owner can arrange it for you.

There are wonderful hotels and restaurants in the area. Ladera Resort named in the Conde Nast Traveler as the best hotel in the Caribbean is just below our property, Anse Chastanet, renowned for its scuba diving. The Jalousie Resort and La Haut Plantation. etc..

Because of our elevation and hence spectacular views, the beaches are 10-15 minutes drive from Hermitage Cottage. All beaches in St. Lucia are public.

For the last 1-2 nights, consider Mirage Beach Hotel in Laborie Village - directly beachfront, in the heart of Laborie Village - very much a working village virtually unspoilt by tourism, really local experience (Mirage has about 3 rooms).

Or Balenbouche Estate in Piaye/Choisel, working plantation with authentic cottages and lovely family.

Enjoy your stay!

Maybe go to Stonefield for the last couple of days...if you enjoy hermitage cottage, with its pool and view, you will like stonefield. You can do self catering or eat at the resort...but its quiet and intimate, not noisy.

Bon jou funindasunjay,

The secluded & quiet Hermitage Cottage is located on the ridge in Rabot Estates above Hotel Chocolat and Ladera Resort (a 10 min drive south of Soufriere).

Walking distance to Drive-In Volcano & Sulpher Springs.

For your last 1-2 nights consider the unique Balenbouche Estate B&B... www.balenbouche.com

Bless up! Paul
