Zipline - Morne Coubaril estate or with Serenity

We are going to zipline in St. Lucia. I have been trying to decide between Morne Coubaril estate or the one Serenity offers.

I really want to see the Pitons and Soufriere and the other is the other side of the island.

Any suggestions

Are you only here for one day on a cruise - or are you staying on island for a while? The one in Dennery (Treetop Adventures) has more lines and longer lines, along with several other adventure activities - waterfall hike, mountain biking, adventure course - and is a great deal - loads of fun. If it is all about the ziplining - then that would be choice number 1. Then on another day, do a tour to Soufriere that includes the volcano, waterfall/gardens, some beach/snorkeling time, etc. Either on your own or with a tour group - great way to spend a day.

If you are only here one day on a cruise - then definitely Morne Coubaril and their lines - the views are great, you see the Pitons, lunch is lovely, etc. You can hire a taxi, head down early and still have some time to hit the beach or see the volcano, etc.

You can book Treetop Adventures yourself and save some money over the Serenity tour - Treetop provides transport on their triple adventure tour, otherwise i think it's on your own. That's where Serenity may be a good idea.

Hope it helps - they are both great - enjoy!

Are the lines at the estate through the rain forest?

Another question. If we do the one in Dennery, will we be back to the ship in time to grab a taxi to see the sites at Soufriere? The ship sails at 5pm.

It is not deep in the rainforest like the Treetop adventures lines are - they run through some of the edge and over some of the valley around the plantation and offer amazing views of the rainforest and the Pitons - but not necessarily deep in the heart of the rainforest. www.stluciaziplining.com/activities.htm You can see some pictures and smaples of the lines and views.

Ahhh- so you are on a ship!!! No - if you do the one in Dennery, there will not be time to then head back down to Soufriere. It is one hour down the east coast to Dennery from the port (2 hour r/t) plus your tour. It is the same time down to Soufriere (2 hour r/t, approx.) plus tour time. Definitely not enough time to do both.

If you are going on your own (hire a driver, book the tour independent, etc.) then you could go down to Dennery, do the ziplines, then continue around the south end of the island and come back to the port through Soufriere and the West coast road. You would have to be off the ship very early though to make sure you had enough time for it all. But, you would be able to do it that way - after the lines in Dennery, you could stop in Vieux Fort for some lunch -maybe the Reef or Island Breeze - beachfront bars (Island Breeze is a little faster service) then head to Soufriere through Laborie and Choisel villages, see the Pitons, maybe have a drink in town, then head back up to the ship. There would not be time for the volcano or botanical gardens, beach time or anything though.

Unfortunately - while we are a small island, our roads are very mountainous and it takes a long time to get anywhere!

so - with a one day stop, I would definitely recommend the Morne Coubaril ziplining and then perhaps some beach time in Soufriere or the other sites.

Enjoy either way!
