Thinking of visiting in mid/late May will it be too quiet?

Considering staying in the Gros Islet area later in May but concerned that many restaurants + bars will be shut as it's classed as low season. Are my concerns correct?

There is nowhere around the island (to my knowledge) that shuts down in May/June. Low season really only is just getting started (it's more like shoulder season) and plenty of people are still visiting the island, etc. The only time I know for sure of a few places that shut completely is during Sept. Very few places at that.

Come on down and enjoy your visit!

You be happy, Jeanie O, at blu!

blu St Lucia (UK Harlequin) underwent much needed renovations in 2011-12, was re-named and is now a very comfortable & clean property a few yards from Reduit Beach in Rodney Bay.

Fitness Center, Alaia Spa, Kids Club, in-room Espresso Machine, HQ Ice Cream Shop, 24 hr restaurant...

blu St Lucia supports two local charities, New Beginnings & Ciceron Home, for homeless and abused children, rehabilitating the family in preparation for the child’s return home.

Big up! Paul

Hi Jeanie,

It is a great time to visit as there are few cruise ships about so the tours do not get crowded and there iS space on Reduit beach. From Thursday night onwards Lucians start to party so check out Delirius for cocktails music and dancing and Gros Islet street party on the Friday. It will be quieter than January although at night Jan was quieter than usual this year. Have fun! Also chdck out Jambe de Bois for their jazz nights and if you have a chance to go to a local cricket match you will find plenty of noise there!

We were in St Lucia for 2 weeks in may and went to most of the popular attractions and thought it was a good time to visit. . Most places were moderately busy but not hectic. Plenty of room on all the beaches we visited. Weather was wall to wall blue skies and not a single drop of rain.

No worries, that time of year.

We find September /October , are the months we have found some places shut,

ie, Ladera for its annual spruce up.
