Staying at Fond Doux Holiday Plantation

Fond Doux Holiday Plantation – St. Lucia

$1170 5-Night Stay for Two in a One-Bedroom Cottage with All Meals and Drinks. Combine Up to 10 Nights. Groupon is offering this right now. I do not know if this is a nice place to stay. There are no trip advisor reviews. How nice is the place? Is it a good deal? Where would you recommend staying? What would you recommend doing in St. Lucia? How expensive is it? How far is this plantation from the beach? Can we walk there? How is the snorkleing, etc?

Actually, there are over 180 TA reviews, the vast majority being excellent or very good. A quick typing of Fond Doux Holiday Plantation in the search box at the top of the full site brings them right up. It is a lovley property with very clean and quaint cottages, a nice pool, beautiful grounds, great food and the plantation tours and history is very intersting - and it is very much still a working plantation- they still grow cocoa for Hershey.

It is not walking distance to anything really, you would need a rental car or taxi to get around. There are several beaches nearby - Jalousie, Anse Chastenet, Malgretoute, Soufriere waterfront, Anse I'vorgne, etc. All beaches are public. Snorkeling is pretty good at all of the above. The Soufriere volcano, Diamond Falls and botanical gardens, Jerusalem Falls and mineral baths, ziplining, Piton Falls, etc are all nearby. Lots of other dining options in the Soufriere area also. Take a look at www.soufrierefoundation.org for more info on the area and activites.

That seems a pretty good price, especially if it includes meals and drinks. Worth considering.

Enjoy, if you decide to visit!
