Drinking Age-- Please Help!!

Im 17 and dress fairly old. I want to know if the drinking age is strictly enforced to 18 years of age? Would I be able to drink and enter into bars/clubs? Should I bring a ID that is someone else, but sort of looks like me that is 20 years old in the picture? Thank you so much.

Carding in PR is not strict at all. The only places that would ask you for ID are Strip Clubs and Casinos which require you to be 21. It wouldn't hurt to bring a fake ID but I doubt that you would need it for clubbing or drinking.

Last time we were in PR, we were with our then 18 y/o daughter and she was never carded. We even went into the hotel casino and she never had a problem.

It's like any other place in the US; maybe they request your ID, maybe not. But many places in Old San Juan have bouncers at the door that ask for one. Others have a 21 year old minimum to enter. There are very exclusives bars, like Oleo; there you have to be very well dressed to enter.

Try not to get involved in any trouble, enjoy your stay the best way possible.
