san juan in feb

I am planning a trip to San Juan in Feb with a group of girls in our 30's and am wondering where we should stay condado or isle verde... Also is the nightlife geared more towards kids in their 20's or where are the lounges/clubs for older crowd?

thanks

In my opinion, you will be fine no matter where you stay, Condado and Isla Verde are pretty much the same. The more popular hotels, like the El San Juan, the Ritz, and the Intercontinental are all in Isla Verde and at walking distance from each other.

So, in that case I would say stay in Isla Verde, probably at the El San Juan where you can just party in the lobby at night as long as you want, or walk to other hotels and clubs. Dont worry about the age thing, there is something for everyone and you will notice that many older people go to the places youd consider are only fou young people.

GOOD LUCK

nycgal,If it fits your budget, I recommend the El San Juan in Isla Verde. Although the rooms are scheduled for needed updating, the other elements of the hotel are excellent. The lobby which has four different bars opens to the casino and to a nightclub with live performers. On Thursday to Saturday, the entertainment starts at 7:00PM with an excellent Salsa band in the lobby. The nightclub, El Chico opens at 10:00PM and stays open to at least 3AM. The disco on the premises Brava, is open til dawn. Nearby is the Water Club, with its famous roof top bar. Nightlife in San Juan is definitely "dress up" so bring your best stuff. Don't worry about "ageism" in doesn't exist in San Juan. When you are out dancing you will see 20 somethings and 60 plusers hitting it with aplomb in the same crowd. The taxi ride to the Condado or Old San Juan is only about 15 minutes. You will want to visit OSJ both in the daytime for sightseeing and shopping and the evening for restaurants and clubbing. Consider arriving in OSJ just before sunset and go to El Morro to see the sun go down.During the day you can hang out at the fabulous pool at ESJ or wander the beach. Food and drinks are pricey, but not more so than NY or Boston. Unforunately, I have to go to South Beach in February, otherwise I'd say "see you there"
