I have to agree with Terri. I wasted a whole hour straightening my hair the first day, and sadly it was a complete waste of time.

I found I could not get my hair dry enough to use the hair straightener.

I still brought it, but found it pretty much a waste of time.

A few good hats seemed to benefit more!

There is a reason so many ladies get braids while in Jamaica.

jamaicans love curly hair. I hear all the time about my curly hair, and how they like that I do not try to straighten it like other foreigners.

Bring a good hair product to control the frizz and a good after shampoo conditioner, leave the straightener at home and sandy's suggestion for a hat is a good one.

Enjoy !

While in the states I am wavy...

While in JA I am totally curly...

No use in trying to fight it :)

Instead, take some small scrunchy brand clips... go with the flow & enjoy a different kind of hair-style while you are in JA! Some peeps pay hundreds of dollars for the kind of hair you will have while in JA... while others only dream of one day having curls.

If your hair is long, then the hat or some combs or scrunchies do a nice job of keeping it from getting tangled while out in a taxi or on a driving tour.

Enjoy your curls while they last!

I have naturally curly hair and spray gel works great on my hair, here at home and in Jamaica. I have to hurry up and apply right out of shower while wet and it helps the most. It doesn't straighten of course...but it does help prevent it from completely frizzing out! :)

One great thing about Jamaica...no one really cares what someone else looks like. Let the frizzies fly.
