Just got back from CoCo La Palm

Had a fantastic trip to CCLP, a huge thanks to all the Negril experts who chimed in and answered questions on where to stay/what to do. I traveled with two of my friends, we stayed in a junior suite. We loved it and had a great trip. Feel free to ask any questions if you're traveling there any time soon!

Did you try any road-side jerk chicken?

We sure did, we had Best of the West a couple times (make sure you ask for extra jerk sauce on the side). Delicious. It's right across the street from the hotel, we bought it and brought it back to our spots on the beach. We ate the hotel breakfast (continental was included, we mostly paid the extra few dollars for the full breakfast--) and had a quick lunch from Best of the West or from Neville the patty man. We never ate dinner at CoCo, which was the plan-- the best meals we had were on the Cliffs or at the Wild Parrot.

Wild Parrot, that's interesting -- a relatively new hotel. What was your fav entree?

We loved the coconut shrimp, which came with some brown rice and a sauce that tasted really good. Its a tiny little place, but one of our favorites!

Wild Parrot's restaurant is becoming (if its not already) one of the best on the beach. I had lunch there a couple of times last winter - outstanding!

Glad to hear you liked Coco. I'm looking at it for next summer for a group of women all celebrating our 50th birthdays next year. We would have to get one of the larger suites, plus maybe another room. The pics of the suites look pretty dated & blah -- what was your opinion of them? We're not looking for fancy, but they just don't seem to have any local flavor at all.

Did you use the pools much? There are a couple other places we like the look of (Nrvana), but there's no pool there.

Also, did you feel that not having AI was expensive? Any idea what you spent per day in food/drink & taxis? We're not huge partiers, but we would have a beer or drink with lunch & a few with dinner.

Thanks for any info that would help us make a decision on this "girls" trip!
