Breezes/Doctors Cave

Is there a fee to get into Doctors Cave if you are staying at Breezes? Do you pay to rent chairs?

NO you don't have to pay a fee to go on the beach at Breezes, and you don't need to pay for chairs, there are even some trees by Breezes for shade. It's a great place!

They guys that work on the beach from breezes will also put up an umbrella for you if you need it. We just got back 2 days ago from breezes. If you have any questions, let me know.

Hi-

Thanks for the reply. Any interesting information/tips you can share about Breezes or Mobay in general? We made reservations for a Deluxe Oceanview, which I hope turns out to be nice.

We also had the deluxe oceanview. You will like it. We thought it was a nice room compared to the smaller rooms. Ask Karyn(bartender)for her special drink. It was good. As soon as you walk out on the beach you will probably be approached by as they call them "lions" hiding in the trees trying to offer you ganga especially if it is when there isn't a lot of people on the beach. Just politely tell them no thanks and they should leave you alone. If you are looking to do any tours. I would definately recommend doing the Braco horseback riding. We also did the "Best of Ocho Rios" which included prospect plantation tour, dunn's river and dolphine encounter. If you are gonna do this be prepared that it will be like a 11 hour deal. Have you ever been to Jamaica before?

This will be my first time to Jamaica. We are staying 8 nights. We are taking a day trip to Negril(we made a reservation with a driver online for $100 there and back for two people~ good??)and are booking what is called the "Triple Treat Tour". It is all day, first to Rose Hall, then rafting on the Martha Brae, Dunns River Falls, and shopping in Ocho Rios.

Did you do any independent exploring around the area?

When you were there was Cornwall Beach open? I've heard it is worth checking out.

I was told that check-in time was 4:00 at Breezes. Are they good about holding your bags, etc.?

Lucky you to be staying 8 nights. $100 is a great price to Negril for the day...be sure to tip your driver. You'll love Rose Hall. Very interesting history. There's a place called the Blue Hole not too far from MoBay....check it out....it's a beautiful area. Cornwall Beach is the beach to the west of Breezes and Doctor's Cave Beach. It's closed but you can check it out also. In the old days....about 10 years ago....Cornwall Beach was THE happening place with a great outdoor bar under a lit-up banyon tree and HUGE speakers playing great music. But those days are gone...sigh.

Make sure you get over to Pier 1 about 11:00 pm on any Friday night. Breezes may have a shuttle there and back (about 2 miles). Check about the shuttle....even if you have to take a taxi, don't miss it. It's a great time, great music and good vibes with locals and tourists partying together.

Breezes will watch your bags like a hawk if you ask....please tip. Just keep any cash on your person until you get your room and safe.

Have fun !!!

We walked down the street to Margartaville and checked out the shops. We didn't venture to much on our own since it was also our first time. I heard negril is great. If we had more time we would have taken a drive there also. We did come across a bus driver that tours on his own. His name is Trevor sorry I don't have a phone number we gave his card to someone else. I would definately eat out one or two nights, just cause the food gets a little old after about 5 or 6 days. If you want to go to a casino there is one at Coral Cliff's with slot machines and you can walk to it. They also have only on Tuesday nights a jamacian night telling you jamacian history though song and dance which was pretty cool.

Check in time is actually 3:00, but when we got there we got in our room by noon, so if they have a room ready they will check you in early, if not your bags are safe to be left in the front by the counter. There is a security guard standing there watching them. We had to leave our bags before we left cause check out is 11:00 and our driver didn't pick us up until 3:00 and we had no problems.
